The short version: Oklahoma's sweepstakes casino ban (SB 1589) takes effect on November 1, 2026. Several operators are already shutting off Oklahoma play, some before that date. If you have Sweeps Coins at any sweepstakes casino, redeem them now. Identity checks can take days.
What the law does
SB 1589 bans dual-currency online sweepstakes casinos in Oklahoma. The Legislature passed it over Governor Kevin Stitt's veto (Senate 34–10, House 68–19). The law makes operating or promoting these sites a Class C2 felony, and it reaches beyond operators to affiliates, payment processors, and geolocation providers. That is why sites like ours stop showing sweepstakes offers to Oklahoma visitors.
Which casinos are leaving, and when
| Casino | Oklahoma status (per its own terms) |
|---|---|
| High 5 Casino | New registrations and purchases stopped October 15, 2026; all play ends October 29, 2026. |
| McLuck | Stops operating in Oklahoma November 1, 2026. |
| Hello Millions | Stops operating in Oklahoma November 1, 2026. |
| Other brands | Several had not yet updated their terms as of October 18, 2026. Expect all compliant operators to exclude Oklahoma from November 1. |
What to do with your Sweeps Coins
- Check your balance against the minimum. Each casino has a minimum redemption, for example 75 SC for cash or 10 SC for gift cards at McLuck and Hello Millions. Our reviews list each one.
- Finish identity verification now. It is the most common cause of redemption delays, and you can't redeem without it.
- Play remaining coins through if required. Most sites require Sweeps Coins to be played once (1x) before they can be redeemed.
- Request your redemption before the deadline, and keep screenshots of your balance and request.
- Gold Coins have no cash value and will simply become unusable.
What's still legal in Oklahoma
Oklahoma has no licensed real-money online casinos, so after November 1 there will be no legal online casino option for Oklahoma residents. Be wary of offshore sites that say they accept Oklahoma players: they are unlicensed in the US, and you would have no regulator to turn to if they refuse to pay. See our Oklahoma page for the current status and helpline.
Is your state next?
Oklahoma joins a fast-growing list. Bills are pending in Pennsylvania (HB 2801) and Washington, DC, among others. Our state-by-state tracker lists every ban, the bill number, and its effective date.
